Dan Thayer, Attorney in Grand Island: Facts About Mt. Everest

To date, Dan Thayer attorney, Grand Island, Nebraska – has enjoyed the opportunity to visit, by helicopter, the summit of eight of the eight-thousand-meter peaks in the Himalayan Mountain Range. One of these peaks is Mt. Everest – the tallest peak in the Himalayas and the world.

  • Everest is 8,848 meters high (29,035 feet).
  • It is considered to be more than 60 million years old.

  • Geologists estimate Everest to be growing at a rate of about a quarter of an inch every year.

Dan Thayer, Attorney in Grand Island: Leadership Organization

Dan Thayer attorney Grand Island for more than 25 years – has made a number of contributions to organizations throughout the local community. Early on in his career, Thayer was an active member of the Hall County Leadership organization – an institution he served as Board Member (1993-1995) and Chairman (1995 and 1996). Dan Thayer, Attorney: Competitive Running Events

Dan Thayer attorney and active member of the local community. He worked for two law firms over the course of his career (Lauritsen, Brownell, Brostrom, Stehlik, Thayer & Meyers (1990-2004); and Thayer & Thayer, PC, LLO (2004-present)). In addition to his work as attorney, Thayer has completed 36 long-distance running competitions – including six full marathons and 30 half-marathons. He has also enjoyed the chance to visit the summit of all eight Himalayan peaks over 8,000 meters tall by helicopter.

Dan Thayer has worked as an attorney in the community of Grand Island for more than 25 years. Prior to his career in civil litigation – and during his tenure as student of the University of Nebraska College of Law – Thayer completed a real estate internship and two law clerkships. Thayer’s internship took place at the Arizona-based Trammell Crow Company in 1987. His first clerkship was completed at the U.S. DOJ Department of Legislative Affairs (1988), while his second was completed at the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Lincoln, Nebraska (1988-1989).

His career began, with the Grand Island firm known as Lauritsen, Brownell, Brostrom, Stehlik, Thayer & Meyers – where he served as partner between 1990 and 2004. He established his own firm – Thayer & Thayer, PC, LLO – in 2004, and has served as the firm’s president ever since.  Prior to beginning his career, he clerked with the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Lincoln.
